Global Technology Competition in the Age of AI

January 24, 2024 • 9:30 – 10:30 am EST

The CSIS Wadhwani Center for AI and Advanced Technologies is pleased to host Senator Michael Bennet (D-CO) and Senator Todd Young (R-IN) for a bipartisan discussion on January 24 from 9:30-10:30 AM ET. This moderated discussion will examine strategic competition in advanced technologies such as semiconductors, quantum computing and artificial intelligence, and new policies to strengthen U.S. leadership.

Following the Biden Administration’s Executive Order on AI, policymakers, experts, and the public looked to Congress for legislation addressing AI and advanced technologies. Congress has recently started to consider bipartisan legislation that would equip the United States for the future of technological competition. Such efforts aim to create AI policies that embrace competitiveness in emerging technology while protecting national security and economic prosperity. During this event, the Senators will outline the vital role Congress plays in maintaining a competitive edge in these strategic technologies, especially in the face of increased competition with China.

This online-only event will be moderated by CSIS’s Wadhwani Center for AI & Advanced Technologies Director Gregory C. Allen.

This event is made possible by general support to CSIS.
