COP Stocktake: Policymakers Perspectives

December 14, 2023 • 4:00 – 4:30 pm EST

CSIS is pleased to host Rep. John Curtis (R-UT), Member, House Energy and Commerce Committee and Chair, Conservative Climate Caucus. Having just returned from COP28, Rep. Curtis will discuss the congressional perspectives on COP28 and the U.S. policy outlook on climate.

Global leaders will gather in Dubai for the 28th United Nations Conference of the Parties. Heads of state, diplomats, climate experts, and environmental activists will take stock of global climate efforts and work to establish new commitments and strategies for future progress. Fossil fuels, food, land use, and climate resilience will be among the key topics discussed. This makes it a pivotal opportunity to chart a resilient path forward for comprehensive global climate action.

The CSIS Energy Security and Climate Change Program's "COP Stocktake" series will delve into the context, themes, and factors that will ultimately determine the success or failure of COP28.
