Allen Agnes

Allen Agnes is a military fellow with the International Security Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). During his fellowship, Allen will provide strategic, real-world expertise to the program. Prior to CSIS, Allen was stationed at Minot Air Force Base, where he held the positions of the Fifth Operations Group Deputy, Fifth Mission Support Group Deputy, and the Fifth Logistics Readiness Squadron Commander. From 2016–2018, he was assigned to United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) as an aircraft strike planner for the air launched cruise missile. Prior to working at USSTRATCOM, he was in the initial cadre class of the United States Air Forces’ premier nuclear deterrence theory and strategy institution, School of Advanced Nuclear Deterrence Studies. Allen has served a variety of operational assignments as a B-52H weapon systems officer, completed two tours as an air liaison officer, which includes a combat command tour, and held staff assignments at the 608th Air Operations Center, Eighth Air Force, and USSTRATCOM. He has deployed in support of Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, Inherent Resolve, and Continuous Bomber Presence. Allen earned an MBA and an MS in operations management. He has also completed Nuclear 200 and 300 course from the Air Force Nuclear Weapon Center, Nuclear Weapons Effects, Policy, and Proliferation (NWEPP) Graduate Certificate Program from Air Force Institute of Technology, and theater nuclear operations course and nuclear weapons orientation course from the Defense Nuclear Weapons School.
